Mary Defer
Mary Defer is a visual artist living and working in Cleveland. She grew up drawing and painting on a family farm in Northeast Ohio, and discovered her love of photography at Kenyon College.
“From the first time I set foot in a darkroom, I have been captivated by analog photography and the sense of alchemical magic that permeates the medium.”
Her pinhole photographs are installed in a mural on Broadway Avenue in Cleveland. Mary is currently a Resident Darkroom Photographer with the Cleveland Print Room.
